Pity is simply meant for the purpose of denying an opponent a chance to get a Soul, thus making this a rather devious card. A player should be careful, though, as they don't want to use this card on a Hero that would otherwise cause a Wound.
Trivia[]
The scene is similar to that of Teleport, a Spell card from the Boss Monster Base Set.
A Hero named Marius is featured on this card, and is the subject of quite a few Spell cards in both Boss Monster and Boss Monster: The Next Level. He features on Teleport, Annihilator, Wild Monster and Super Effective!. Marius was originally a hero in the Pre-Alpha of Boss Monster.
